"The University's long-range objective is to maintain a self-sufficient parking program.  To assist in this endeavor the University at Albany implemented an automated paystation in a small 42 space visitor’s parking lot designed to collect fees upon lot entry.  We selected Access Technology Integration to install an Aura space meter and integrate the unit's operation with Amano barrier gates.  People wishing to park in the unmanned lot simply pull up to a paystation, pay the associated fee, take their receipt and enter the lot when the barrier arm rises.  The system operates using cash, coins, credit cards and tokens for departmental activities. The system does not make change or issue refunds; however it has more than met expectations. Since the installation of the system the University has expanded the hours of operations of the lot, increased revenue and redeployed staff in a more effective manner."
